Bible Society material may not be borrowed.

Manuscript and archive material is read in the Manuscripts Reading Room; printed books are read in the Munby Rare Books Room (or Manuscripts Reading Room by prior arrangement). Please request material in the relevant reading room using a Special Collections request slip.

Most Bible Society material may be consulted by anyone with a valid Cambridge University Library reader's ticket. If you wish to access manuscripts and archives, you will be asked to specify this when you apply for Library membership. Reader Registration staff will also be happy to offer guidance when you are validating, requesting or renewing your card.

Imaging Services

The Library offers a wide range of imaging services, depending on the nature of the material. For further information, please consult Bible Society staff.

Self-service photography

Readers may use their own cameras to take still photographs of material. If you wish to take your own photographs you must first speak to staff and read the information sheets on self-service photography and copyright provided. Photographs may be taken for non-commercial research or private study only.

Cameras and camera phones must be hand-held, and must be capable of being set to 'silent'. SLRs, tripods, 'mini-pods', hand-held scanners and flash photography are not permitted. Please note also that some collections are subject to restrictions and may not be photographed; staff will provide guidance on this. Please see our full guidelines for further information.
